“Wondering and Wandering”

Carrollton Arts Center

Opening Reception: October 24, 5pm to 7pm

“Wondering and Wandering” opens at Carrollton Arts Center in Georgia this week featuring over thirty works of art by Professor Carrie Ann Baade. Using remnants of Renaissance and Baroque paintings, Baade creates dark surreal landscapes inhabited by exotic figures. Her work brings a contemporary voice to the past through use of collage and then subverts and distorts it in order to construct a strong sense of narrative and meaning. Each composition becomes a dense allegorical meta-narrative, informed by religious, mythological, and cultural iconography.

Wondering and Wandering runs October 24 – December 7, 2019 with an Opening Reception on October 24, from 5pm to 7pm. The artist will be in attendance. Gallery hours are Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Carrollton Arts Center is located at 251 Alabama Street in Carrollton, GA, approximately 40 minutes from Atlanta.
