Mary Stewart Completes Wyoming Artist Residency

Published December 3, 2018

Professor Mary Stewart, who retired from the Art Department in December 2017, has recently completed residency at Jentel Arts, in northeastern Wyoming. In this residency, two writers and four artists work intensively on individual projects for a month. Stewart completed six digital murals, each measuring eight to twelve feet in length. Her work deals with flow and transformation. As noted by Greek philosopher Heraclitus, experience is fluid: even when visiting the same location, we cannot enter the same stream twice. We, as well as the stream, continually change.
