Nancy Goodes is the new Impact campus organizer for Environment Florida’s 100% Renewable campaign during the spring semester in Tallahassee. She is opening an opportunity for students to support a larger cause. Impact is hiring interns to work on Environment Florida’s 100% Tallahassee campaign for the Spring 2019 semester. The internship is a part-time (10-20 hours a week), unpaid position in Tallahassee across three college campuses.
For a place that’s called the Sunshine State, it’s disappointing that so little of our energy needs are met by renewable sources like solar energy. Our health, our climate, and the beautiful places we love are all at risk because of our continued dependence on oil, gas, and coal. That’s why Impact is working with Environment Florida to get local commitments towards a cleaner, greener future with the 100% Tallahassee campaign.
100% Tallahassee aims to get commitments from Florida State University, Tallahassee Community College, Florida A&M University, and the city of Tallahassee to commit to running on 100% renewable energy by 2050. Impact interns will take part in campaign organizing to educate the public on the importance of transitioning to clean energy, gain media attention for the campaign, engage stakeholders in the issue, and ultimately get concrete commitments.
Different positions include:
