Brown University Offers Teaching Scholarship for Emerging Artist

Brown University Department of Visual Art wants to offer a special opportunity to a young or emerging artist in the field of Sculpture and Social Practice. This position is made possible by a grant from the Mellon Foundation. The purpose of this grant is to increase opportunities for young or emerging artists from Historically Underrepresented Groups, or artists whose work deals with issues important to Historically Underrepresented Groups. The chosen candidate will be given significant financial support for two years to build their careers, with minimal teaching (one course per year), and then after two years will start in an Assistant Professor Tenure Track position in the Visual Art Department, teaching both foundational and upper-level courses to undergraduate students.
