FSU Music BA ’20 Hannah Hetzel-Ebben, is currently a student at Florida State University, earning degrees in Vocal Performance and completing the pre-medical track while earning minors in Biology, Chemistry, and Psychology. She’s also the National Projects Manger for an organization called heARTS Incorporated. They are a 501(c)(3) non-profit that works to donate arts supplies to schools whose arts programs have been cut or greatly reduced. For this most recent project, they are expanding their boundaries and working on a project for Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. The Internal Medicine Unit of TMH is working to incorporate the methods of a hospital in Israel called Music and Memory in care with Alzheimer’s patients. With this new project, Tallahassee Memorial Hospital hopes to provide arts supplies such as crayons, colored pencils and sketch pads as well as iPods with music from the 1940’s and 50’s to patients with Alzheimer’s as a way of minimizing falls and injury due to confusion.
