FSU Art MFA ’17 Christina Klein is currently exhibiting “Domesticated” in the Online Viewing Room at Venvi Art Gallery, February 5-March 14, 2021. While continuing the narrative of home, adornment and textile landscapes of previous work, the show is specifically influenced by visits to abandoned homes in the rural countryside.
Ms. Klein grew up on a farm in rural Kansas where there was always something new to discover and endless materials to build with. Her passion for making eventually led to her decision to study fine arts at Kansas State University, and later, Florida State University. She has also completed a Fulbright Fellowship at the Academy of Fine Arts Nuremberg. She currently resides in Oakland, California where she teaches drawing and painting at the University of California Berkeley, and recently concluded a solo show at Lightspace Gallery-International Art Museum of America.
