FSU Art BFA ’21 Myah Freeman has received the 2018 Curtis Scholarship Award. The 2018 Curtis Scholarship is an annual leadership development program to support youth ages 16-20 from underserved communities in the U.S. or U.K. who embody the values of global citizenship. Joined by members of the Global Citizen staff, the Curtis Scholars will explore social issues, innovative international organizations and cultural sites with a focus on poverty alleviation in Global Citizen’s issue areas. As a 2018 Curtis Scholar, Freeman will have the honor of traveling to South Africa as a Global Citizen to assist in ending extreme poverty. During her experience she plans to acquire the skill sets needed to help reach her career goals. Her dream is to develop into, not only a well-known artist, but one who uses their work as a means of aid and activism across the globe.
