2019 College of Fine Arts Student Showcase Recap

Published February 1, 2020

FSU’s College of Fine Arts recently hosted the 2019 Student Showcase on Dec. 6, 2019 in Moore Auditorium that featured the work of 13 outstanding students, both graduate and undergraduate, who presented on a range of topics from across our six departments. Annually, the College of Fine Arts Student Showcase brings together the greater FSU community to learn about the creative research of our high-achieving students, and allows student presenters to share their research and work in a variety of formats. Students from each department – ArtArt EducationArt HistoryDanceInterior Architecture & Design, and Theatre – presented projects on major topics from their studies.

The showcase began with an opening from the host, Dwight James III, who presented an original poem. After his performance piece, James introduced the first half of the student presenters. Following the presentations, guests were served light refreshments and given the opportunity to walk around the lobby and to speak directly to the students as well as view their work up close. After the break, the second group of students presented their research. Guests then had the opportunity to speak with these students as well.

The College would like to give its heartfelt congratulations to the student participants for giving inspiring, engaging, and high-quality presentations that demonstrated the incredible and diverse work being done in the College of Fine Arts.

Each student who presented received an award funded through the generosity of private donors, including alumni and friends. Gifts to the College of Fine Arts – including our programs in Art & Design, Dance, Theatre, and the Museum of Fine Arts – enable us to offer student scholarships, award faculty research grants, recognize exceptional teaching, and support activities across the College.
