“Answers” is made up of a broken door which has 3D models of the major global religions projection mapped onto the surface of the door. The piece is a metaphor for seeking answers for conflicts one encounters in times of distress. Door shards represent how our beliefs, ideologies, and even our sense of self can be torn apart. Constantly shifting and moving, the religious iconography stands in for the elusive quest to find the answers we seek to resolve our conflicts. Doors are prevalent throughout the piece because they represent the paths which can be opened or closed off; it’s all a choice in the end.
How useful is a door you cannot open or close?
