Published September 15, 2015

FSU Art MFA ’14 Samantha Burns has been awarded the inaugural Visiting Artist position for the New College of Florida, a new partnership with FSU Art in which a recent FSU Art MFA will be placed in the Visiting Artist position annually. For the academic year of 2015-16, she will be creating new works in her studio at New College, while also teaching. On the campus, which is located adjacent to the Ringling Museum in Sarasota, she will be instructing an Introduction to Printmaking course in the Fall. In the Spring, she will teach an additional advanced printmaking course as well as participate in an exhibition and lecture.

During her time as visiting artist at New College, Samantha looks forward to sharing her student’s and her new works as they progress. In the spring, the work Samantha is creating, as visiting artist will be shown in New College’s gallery. More news on this exhibition and her lecture are coming soon, as dates for this exhibition are still to be determined.
