Published September 24, 2020

FSU Art Professor Carrie Ann Baade is included in forthcoming book, The Art of The Occult, published by White Lion Publishing/The Quarto Group, to be released October, 2020. Featured in the book are symbolic and mythical images of the Pre-Raphaelites, the automatic drawing of Hilma af Klint and Madge Gill, and Leonora Carrington’s surrealist interpretation of myth, alchemy and Kabbalah. From theosophy and Kabbalah to the zodiac and alchemy; spiritualism and ceremonial magic to the elements and sacred geometry – The Art of the Occult introduces major occult themes and showcases the artists who have been influenced and led by them. The book’s author, S. Elizabeth, is a Florida-based writer and curator whose essays and interviews focusing on esoteric art have appeared in Coilhouse, Dirge Magazine, and Death & The Maiden. She is the co-creator of The Occult Activity Book Vol 1 and 2 and a staff writer at Haute Macabre.
