Graduate Assistantships

The FSU Department of Art has technical or teaching assistantships available for our graduate Master of Fine Arts students. First year students can receive a technical assistantship (GA); qualified students may be offered a teaching assistantship (GTA) during their 2nd and 3rd year in the program.

This is where graduates will perform primary teaching duties as the Instructor of Record (IOR) and gain knowledge of teaching foundation-level, along with some media specific courses. These assistantships are only offered to MFA candidates who have completed ART5927C Teaching College Art and PIE Training. Students must maintain a high level of performance in the program to keep their assistantship status.
