Jamie Ho

Assistant Professor

Department of Art

Jamie Ho is an interdisciplinary artist and educator from Fort Myers, Florida. Her art practice engages with photography, moving image, sculpture, and installation to investigate the long-term impact of assimilation and cultural bereavement through references to ancestral traditions and artifacts. Her work troubles the history of public spectacle, using performance and lighting studio techniques to challenge societal beauty standards.

Ho was awarded the Unlimit Art Fellowship to attend Art Omi in 2026. She is a 2026 Silver Eye International Fellow, has been included in the 2023 Silver List and was awarded the 40th Center Annual Beth Block Honorarium by Houston Center for Photography. Ho has exhibited works nationally and has had solo exhibitions at Art League Houston, Houston Center for Photography, Art + Literature Laboratory, and Watkins Gallery at Winona State University. She has held residencies at Art Omi (2026), Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts (2025), Visual Studies Workshop (2025), Vermont Studio Center (2023), and ACRE Residency (2022). Ho previously taught at University of Houston as the Visiting Assistant Professor in Photography + Video.
