Carrie Ann Baade is a painter, storyteller, and professor who explores the intersections of myth, memory, and the human psyche through a unique fusion of historical art fragments and surreal narratives. At Florida State University, Baade mentors students in painting and drawing, guiding them to integrate both traditional and digital techniques in innovative art-making. Her courses examine classical methodologies alongside contemporary strategies, encouraging students to find personal resonance in their work.

Her work has recently been featured at the LA and SF Art Fairs and exhibited in museums across Poland, France, Australia, Mexico, and Indonesia. Recent solo exhibitions include Mirror Worlds at the Deland Art Museum in Florida and Sawing a Woman in Half at La Luz de Jesus Gallery in Los Angeles. Her monograph, Scissors and Tears, was released in 2022 by La Luz de Jesus Press, offering an in-depth exploration of her visionary and symbolic artwork.
