Past Forward, 2022

Past Forward emerged in the Fall of 2019 during Matt Liddle’s residency at SCAP. Liddle collaborated with Denise Bookwalter and Jay Fox to compile photos from their personal archives with recurring and overlapping visual themes. They juxtaposed the images within the continuously changing pages of the Jacob’s Ladder inspired by Yami Yamaucho’s origami version. The project simmered and seasoned during the pandemic then re-emerged in its final form in Spring 2022.
