MFA Alumni Alex Adkinson selected by international panel of curators for MESH Art Fair

Alex Adkinson, FSU Department of Art Digital Fab Lab Manager and Adjunct Professor, has been selected by an international panel of curators for the first edition of the MESH Art Fair! The fair highlights creatives working at the forefront of immersive and digital media. MESH – Edition 1.0 – Low Poly, High Art. – is entirely virtual to showcase new forms of experiential art and will open July 1 in the Decentraland metaverse.

Adkinson is an interdisciplinary artist working across sculptural and digital medias with a conceptual focus on the relationships of technology, culture, power, and ecology. Adkinson manages the digital media fabrication lab and is an adjunct instructor of digital, 3D, and contemporary art foundations. Additionally, Adkinson is a publishing researcher for iDigBio through the biological sciences department, where he is advancing techniques for the digital, 3D archival of living plant specimen, and the use of immersive medias in science education. Adkinson received his MFA in studio art from Florida State University in 2022 and a BS in kinesiology from University of Wisconsin Eau Claire in 2015.
