FSU Art Alum Maddie Wishart becomes Digital Fabrication Lab Technician at the USC Iovine and Young Academy

FSU Art Alum Maddie Wishart now holds the position of Digital Fabrication Lab Technician at the USC Iovine and Young Academy. In this role she supports USC students in using the facilities through safety training and consulting with them on different methods to create their projects. In addition to metal and wood shops, the facilities provide a wide variety of digital fabrication and rapid prototyping tools including a Shopbot CNC Router, Haas milling machine, waterjet and laser cutters, and 3D printers.

At FSU, Wishart worked at the Innovation Hub, which provides similar digital fabrication tools and participated in Department of Art courses that combine art and technology, such as Mechatronic Art and Physical Computing.

Wishart was a 2016 Global Scholar, an IDEA Grant recipient, and was honored with The President’s Undergraduate Humanitarian of the Year Award for 2019.
