Current Exhibition at Gallery 406 features Visiting Artist Todd Jones (FSU Art BFA ’16)

Published August 31, 2023

Gallery 406 at Elon University will feature the work of artist Todd Jones, a painter and sculptor who is a Visiting Assistant Professor and Gallery Director at Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina. Todd received his MFA in Painting + Drawing and Graduate Certificate in Visual Arts Management from Ohio University in 2022. He earned a BFA in Studio Art and Psychology from Florida State University in 2016. Todd has been an artist-in-residence at several notable creative arts centers and has exhibited his work nationally in solo and group shows. He was the 2022 William and Dorothy Yeck Award Finalist at Miami University’s Young Painters Competition and a Fifth Edition of the Boynes Emerging Artist Award finalist.Todd’s work is process-driven, creating layered blocks of salvaged mistint and discarded house paint that is molded and carved into new forms. A visual record of history is made by exposing the repetitive layers and the lost hopes and dreams each colored layer represents. This body of work reflects consumerism, memory, and identity. The Forgotten is on exhibition from August 21st – October 19th, 2023, at Gallery 406 at Elon University. An opening reception and gallery talk will occur on September 11th at 5:30 p.m.
