College of Fine Arts Welcomes New Faculty Members Ahead of Fall 2026 Semester

The Florida State University College of Fine Arts will welcome a cohort of faculty members into new roles this August in art therapy, design, dance, art and theatre. Four permanent faculty and several visiting faculty will teach their first courses at FSU this Fall. 

 “We are excited to welcome this impressive group of scholars and artists to FSU and to our College of Fine Arts family,” said Dean James Frazier. “As they begin their first semester at FSU, they bring added energy and meaningful expertise that will strengthen the College’s academic community for years to come.” 

Together, these new faculty members reflect the breadth of creative inquiry, professional excellence and student-centered teaching that define excellence in the arts. Their varied backgrounds and achievements will enrich classrooms, studios and stages across the College, offering students new ways to learn, create and imagine what is possible.  

Meet our new College of Fine Arts faculty members:
Elizabeth Graham Anderson
Elizabeth Graham Anderson

Specialized Teaching Faculty & Clinical Coordinator, Department of Arts Leadership, Education & Therapy

Elizabeth Graham Anderson, PhD, ATR-BC, LPC is an art therapist specializing in art therapy with children and adolescents in school-based systems. She brings extensive experience as an art therapist in medical settings, private practice, and community spaces to her role as an educator and mentor.  

Hyena Nam
Hyena Nam

Assistant Professor, School of Design

Hyena Nam, MFA is an award-winning graphic designer, researcher and educator named one of the Top 100 Most Creative Designers in the World by the World Brand Design Society for two consecutive years. She specializes in art direction and visual communication across print and digital media. Originally from South Korea and now based in the United States, Nam has worked across both the Korean and U.S. design industries.

Beth Twigs

Assistant Professor, School of Dance

Beth Twigs, MFA is an accomplished choreographer, educator, and former professional dancer. Her choreography has been commissioned by companies across the United States, including Olympic Ballet Theatre, Canyon Concert Ballet, Vitacca Ballet, Chamber Dance Company, and Boston Dance Theater, and presented at the Seattle International Dance Festival, Austin Dance Festival, and New Century Dance Project. Prior to joining the faculty at FSU, she served as the primary ballet instructor for the University of Wyoming 

Royce Zackery
Royce Zackery

Associate Professor, School of Dance

Royce Zackery, MA is an artist, choreographer, educator, and researcher whose work bridges the artistic traditions of ballet with contemporary research in human movement. Zackery’s choreographic and creative practice extends across concert dance, higher education, cultural diplomacy, and international artistic exchange. His work and collaborations have included Beyond the Ballet Barre, Canada’s National Ballet School and Assemblée Internationale, Moveius Contemporary Ballet, State Street Ballet, Company E, the U.S. Department of State, and U.S. Embassy initiatives in Doha, Abu Dhabi, Jerusalem/Ramallah, and Rwanda. Prior to joining FSU, Zackery served on the faculty of Howard University, where he served as Artistic Director of the Howard University Dance Arts Ensemble.

Sarah Black-Sadler

Visiting Assistant Professor, Department of Art

Sarah Black-Sadler, MFA is a multidisciplinary artist and educator working across painting, quilting, collage, and ceramics. Her work has been exhibited widely throughout the eastern seaboard, including at the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art, the Washington Project for the Arts, and the LaGrange Museum of Art. 

Jess Gersz
Jess Gersz

Visiting Assistant Professor, School of Theatre

Jess Gersz, MFA is a costume designer whose work has been featured in a diverse array of projects. His work has been featured on Broadway, on tour, and in Theaters worldwide. With an MFA in Costume from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a BA from the University at Albany (SUNY), Jess has collaborated with numerous companies, schools, and organizations, including The Jamie Lloyd Company, Dodgers Theatricals, Troika Entertainment, NETWorks Productions, Pace University, Theatre Aspen, and more. 

Ken Saginario
Ken Saginario 

Visiting Assistant Professor, School of Design 

Ken Saginario, MArch teaches design representation, visual communication and foundational design studios. His interdisciplinary background spans interior design, architecture, and the highly specialized field of piano technology, bringing together design thinking, material craft, and systems-based problem solving.
