Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival – Emerging Artist Program

The 57th Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival – CALL FOR EMERGING ARTISTS

The WPSAF Emerging Artist Committee is seeking participants for the 2015 Emerging Artist Program offered in conjunction with The 57th Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival being held March 18, 19 and 20, 2016. This program is designed specifically for artists who have little or no experience exhibiting or selling their artwork at any venue. Artists who are just beginning their careers in the art world are encouraged to apply. We reserve the right to pre-screen and research emerging artist applicants to make sure they are a fit for this category and that they do not have extensive experience exhibiting and selling their work.

In addition to having the opportunity to sell their work, meet other artists and participate in a nationally recognized festival, Emerging Artists are afforded the following considerations:

  • Waiver of all administrative and exhibitor fees
  • Hotel accommodations for four nights (Thursday through Sunday)
  • Access to Artist Hospitality Center as well as the Saturday Night Artists’ Party
  • Transportation for one not to exceed $600.00 — either round trip airfare or vehicle mileage at fifty cents ($.50) per mile
  • A 10×10 display tent and display stands for use during the festival

With the exception of being ineligible for ribbons and monetary awards, Emerging Artists are treated to the same amenities as all other festival exhibitors. Our judges will jury the Emerging Artist applications in late October and those receiving the judges’ highest evaluations will be invited to participate in The 57th Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival.

HOW TO APPLY

Applications for the Emerging Artist Program must be submitted by MIDNIGHT (EDT), SEPTEMBER 25, 2015. LATE APPLICATIONS CANNOT BE CONSIDERED.

Download the Emerging Artist Program application from the WPSAF website at www.wpsaf.org by

clicking on the For the Artists’ tab, then on Emerging Artist. Read the application thoroughly. You must

abide by all Festival rules. To complete your application:

  • At any time, create your free ACCOUNT in ZAPP (the one-step application system now

used by most large shows) at www.zapplication.org.

  • You may upload the IMAGES of your work at any time. Excellent guidelines labeled IMAGE PREPARATION may be found in ZAPP. ZAPP will send you reminders to apply

during the appropriate time. A booth image is not required for Emerging Artists.

  • Apply through ZAPP at zapplication.org between August 1, 2015 and MIDNIGHT (EDT), September 25, 2015. Submit your application in ZAPP using the coupon code found on the WPSAF website. Use of the coupon code waives the application fee of $35 for Emerging Artists. Please be certain to respond to the question in ZAPP that asks how you heard about our Emerging Artist Program.
