Greetings colleagues: With Windgate Charitable Foundation funding, we have a position open for 18 months to assist us with our craft-based collections. As per our grant proposal Crafting a Continuum: Rethinking the Contemporary Craft Field we will establish an 18 month curatorial fellowship in contemporary craft and identify candidates who have completed undergraduate or graduate level work and seeking intensive training in curatorial practice with a focus on contemporary craft. They will play a significant role in the development of the strategic plan, collection and exhibition development, residencies and advisory committee. This additional curatorial staffing will allow us to accomplish our ambitious goals as stated in the grant proposal and prepare/mentor a new curator for substantive and innovative work in contemporary craft in an art museum. The pay rate is lower than we expected as we are paying healthcare and retirement benefits. A great opportunity for someone getting out of school and needs some real experience.

Job Opening (27268) Curatorial/Museum Assistant is now posted on the ASU employment website, through the Initial close date is October 28, 2011. Applications will continue to be accepted and considered every two weeks until the search is closed. View this posting at:
