SCAP Hosts “A Guide to Florida” Book Launch at FAR

The Small Craft Advisory Press’s newest edition of artists’ books, A Guide to Florida, launched on November 10, 2016 with a successful event hosted at the Facility for Arts Research this month. Many of the writers and artists, as well as their family and friends, attended the book launch to hear a reading featuring the work of Danilo John Thomas, Mary Ryals (Florida Poet Laureate), Jessie King, and Jessica Plante. The completed books, as well as materials from the production process, were on display in the FAR gallery, providing a glimpse into the many details that went into the making of this complex and beautiful book. Jessica Peterson, the project’s lead artist joined the event via skype and offered her closing remarks before the champagne toast and the presentation of finished copies to each of the participants of this collaborative book.
