Technician
Job Description: The Photography department seeks a Technician with a solid expertise and intimate experience with the best educational procedures and pitfalls of digital photo labs.
Technician must be available to work with the two full-time technicians on matters that may arise, and be ready and available to do the following:
- Oversee work-study students
- Oversee the darkrooms
- Check out equipment to students
- Opening and closing both the analog and digital facilities
- Maintain all software and hardware components of photography lab/classroom
- Assist students with photo editing and scanning software
- Maintain calibration of computer monitors, media projectors, scanners, and inkjet printers
- Create custom color profiles using color management hardware and software
- Fulfill student print orders
- Monitor inventory and usage of printer ink and paper
- Maintain software and hardware updates, and revise written tutorials for all software and hardware used in the digital photo lab
- Prepare digital photo lab for class lectures and demonstrations according to Photography instructors’ needs
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Photoshop
- Experience with traditional as well as digital photo processing
- BFA in photography or equivalent experience required
