Mass Visual Arts: Open Call to Artists

A themed group exhibition open to all media and to artists residing in the Southeastern United States (FL, AL, GA, MS, LA, SC, NC, TN). Broad interpretation encouraged. Any work relating to the theme “Below the Belt” will be considered for exhibition, regardless of medium. With your submission, please include your brief resume, artist statement, cover letter, and artwork detail list (including title, medium, dimensions, and artist’s compensation expected for of each piece submitted) with up to 5 images for a small curation fee of $20.


MASS Visual Arts is a non-profit fine arts organization based in Gainesville, FL conceived by artists to produce and present exhibitions in Gainesville, FL. Our mission is to provide emerging, mid-career, and established contemporary fine artists with twice yearly exhibitions presented to the burgeoning arts community in Gainesville, FL. Other forms of community based involvement will include art related events such as visiting artists lectures, presentations, workshops, and fund-raising events.


EXHIBITION: Selected artists will be exhibited in a 3000 square foot event space located in a historic building in downtown Gainesville. The exhibition will open the first weekend of February 2012, and remain open to the public each weekend of the month with a closing reception coinciding with the coordinated downtown ArtWalk February 24th, 2012.
