Mark Messersmith has solo show at Huntsville Museum of Art

Published January 9, 2011

The latest exhibition in this long-standing showcase for outstanding regional contemporary art focuses on this Florida artist’s richly layered narrative paintings. Messersmith renders the coastal Southeastern landscape as a mysterious environment still inhabited by powerful birds, vigilant panthers, weary gators, blackwater swamps and old cypress trees—all vying with mankind for space and survival.
