Katrina Willis’ Internship Experience

Published August 30, 2011

Katrina Willis interned at the Master Craftsman Studio (MCS) from May 9-August 4. The MCS creates sculptures and other forms of art for the Florida State campus. As an intern, she helped out with assigned projects. These included a large mosaic, a stone and wood table, and the memorial sidewalk. Projects that she worked on on her own included pen making, mosaics, paper castings, stained glass, fused glass, slumped glass, and mold making. She says, “I learned so much working at the MCS. Communication and working as a team were also part of this experience. This internship was very valuable to me because it expanded my knowledge and experience of so many different things. My favorite thing to do was to make pens. I would definitely recommend the MCS for other students to intern or even volunteer.”
