On April 20th, the College of Music will be sponsoring a special event in the Opperman Music Hall hosted by Force Majeure Quintet. Dr. Alan Theisen, of the Force Majeure Quintet, will be giving a world premiere performance of a compostion of music commissioned by the the FSU College of Music. This piece consists of five movements, with each movement based on a different piece of art. This work powerfully combines the forces of music and art. One of the paintings, titled Creeping Obstacles in Kansas, is by artist Marcus Jansen, who will be in attendance at the concert.
