Professor Mary Stewart recently completed her Senior Specialist Fulbright project with an “unconference” in Toronto. Using facilitated discussions, this structure actively engages all participants, rather than relegating the audience to a passive listener mode.
Seventeen institutions were represented, including colleges from all areas of Ontario, three universities from the United State and one from university from Brazil.
Using Howard Gardner’s Five Minds for the Future as a point of departure, the discussions focused on the disciplined mind, the creative mind, the constructive mind, the critical mind and the connective mind.
