April’s First Friday (April 5, 2013) at Railroad Square Art Park, opens with an exciting lineup!
Working Method Contemporary Gallery is pleased to present New Work by Brad Blair, Samantha Burns, Peter Kamback, and Adam Williams. Each artist will be exhibiting works completed in recent months, including sculpture, painting, and installation. Please join us on Friday, April 5th from 6:30-10 for an artists reception. Working Method is located in the Railroad Square Art Park in Tallahasse, Florida.
Carrie Ann Baade’s installation ALTERed explores the artist’s process featuring the collages and works in progress. Featured are two paintings in process, Allegory of Good Government and Allegory of Bad Government. These 3 x 4 foot compositions are inspired by the 14th c. Italian artist Lorenzetti’s murals of the same name. The artist will be present and working in the gallery from 7 to 9pm.
FSU Art Professor Geoge Blakely will open 621 Gallery with “Reinventing the Landscape”, featuring his ‘Postcard’ series. On April 4th, Blakely will lecture on his work at the FSU Fine Arts Building, room 249. On April 5, Blakely’s showcase will be held from 6 – 9 PM at 621 Gallery. The show will run from April 5-18 between 1-5 pm.
On First Friday April 5th, 2013 from 6-9 om the Get Green Workshop (The Alley Cats) at Florida State University will hold ALLEY FEST 2013. ALLEY FEST 2013 is an event to promote community involvement in cleaning up and building sustainable garden and art spaces around the Gaines Street area. This year’s workshop has created multiple site-specific art installations to be showcased on display during the event. Along with an evening full of food, live music.
