Guerra de la Paz is the composite name that represents the creative team efforts of Cuban-born artists Alain Guerra and Neraldo de la Paz, who live and work in Miami and have been collaborating since 1996.
Their work is based on a combination of traditional disciplines and experimentation with unconventional materials. They are often inspired by found objects: the energy they emit, and the idea of capturing their essence and harnessing their psychosocial and environmental message. Guided by these basic principles (both conceptually and methodically), and incorporating the readymade – their familiarity and archeological qualities – into their own compositions allows Guerra de la Paz to have a recurring underlying theme that is charged with the complexities of the human footprint.
