Elise Thompson Accepted To The Wassaic Artist Residency

Published April 27, 2017

FSU Art MFA ’16 Elise Thompson will be attending The Wassaic Artist Residency for the month of June this summer.

“The Wassaic Artist Residency exists to provide a genuine and intimate context for art making. We hope to strengthen local community by increasing social and cultural capital through inspiration, promotion, and creation of contemporary visual and performing art.

The Wassaic Project and the Wassaic Artist Residency Program are two separate but closely connected organizations that offer complementary programming and are co-located at the Maxon Mills, Luther Barn and surrounding facilities in Wassaic, NY. The Wassaic Project produces exhibitions, a summer festival, and an arts education program; the Wassaic Artist Residency Program is a competitive residency program that brings artists and writers into the hamlet of Wassaic to live and work for periods of 1 – 6 months.”

Elise has also started an Indiegogo campaign to help cover the cost of travel, fees, food, supplies, etc. for the trip in exchange for works of art.
