REBOOT is a lab started by Department of Art faculty member Rob Duarte. The lab lives at the Facility for Arts Research (FAR) and one of its ongoing projects seeks to give new life to plastic waste.
Currently, Duarte and REBOOT intern Collin Huse (Theatre MFA candidate in Technical Production) are working with plastic grocery bags – experimenting to find accessible, low-tech methods of transforming this ubiquitous source of plastic waste into structural components that can be used to create sculptural and architectural forms.
Exciting progress has been made on the project, but the lab needs MORE BAGS!
A donation bin has been placed near the elevator, right outside of the Department of Art office. Leave bags anytime (but please: clean bags only). Thanks for your help!
