The emerging artists of Tallahassee will unveil their newest works at Distraction/Destruction, a showcase sponsored by Tallahassee’s Art Students League and hosted by 621 Gallery. The works represent various moments in the long history of painting, from the highly refined techniques of the Old Masters to the experimental approaches of contemporary artists. The diversity of methods and themes in this exhibition reinforce the mantra that ‘painting is the answer to painting’, no matter what distractions or destructive tendencies attempt to interrupt the artists’ creativity.
It is a free event, and select works will be for sale. Proceeds will support future events for Tallahassee’s growing art scene, which would not be possible without the encouragement of 621 Gallery and the Art Students League.
