The Department of Art’s Fall Kickoff event will be held on Thursday, September 17, from 5:00-7:00pm in the lobby and portico of the Fine Arts Building. The celebratory event will be held by all in the department and is free and open to the public. We look forward to seeing you!
What to expect:
• A brief welcome and introductions by Department Chair Professor Anne Stagg shortly after 5pm.
• Tables with program information and materials, and art-making demonstrations and activities led by Department of Art program areas and student organizations!

The FSU Department of Art presents On the Rise: Celebrating Award-Winning Student Artists, an exhibition showcasing recipients of the 2026 Department of Art Student Awards and celebrating the creativity, experimentation, and excellence of FSU Studio Art students.

Special Feature in our 2nd Room: Graduate Award Winners
This year’s exhibition also includes a special two-person exhibition featuring graduate award winners Pim Ruby and Ricder Ricardo. Their work highlights the distinctive voices, ambitious practices, and range of experimentation taking place within FSU’s graduate studio art community.
Together, these exhibitions recognize outstanding student achievement while demonstrating how Department of Art awards support artists as they develop their practices, pursue ambitious projects, and build their professional careers.
