I use studio lighting to emphasize inherent aspects of my subject and I often frame my subject matter in an abstract way to de-emphasize a single narrative. I want this work to eschew possible interpretations of direct cultural critique and instead I want the work to remain ambiguous. The objects that I chose to photograph in this body of work are of personal nostalgic value and aesthetic appeal. The beauty of this work is in the interpretation, the perspective of the viewer and the conversation that may begin.
