FSU Art Assistant Teaching Professor Chalet Comellas is exhibiting work this summer from Assembly Is Required at Tempus Projects and the Toronto Book Arts Fair.
MANIFESTO: Food is the first in a series of experimental books developed as part of a traveling community arts project titled Assembly Is Required. The 8” booklet resembles IKEA product assembly instructions but actually has re-interpreted images and text that is appropriated from “The Future of Food and Seed” written by Vandana Shiva.
The first summer exhibition is “LITTLE TRIGGERS” at Tempus Projects. It runs until July 22, in Tampa, FL. This all media show features small-scale works and was juried by artist Duke Riley.
The Toronto Art Book Fair is taking place June 15th – 18th 2017 at Artscape Youngplace. The fair features curated exhibitions, 80 Canadian and international exhibitors, and community programming that includes panel discussions, readings, talks, launches, and workshops. Now in its second year, TOABF 2017 will showcase hundreds of national and international artists, publishers, small presses, archives, galleries, critics, designers, curators, bookmakers, writers, and performers.
