You are Here will be a group exhibition that investigates how artists use cartography in creative ways and their interpretations of the function and meaning of maps we make and use in contemporary life. Works can range from literal to highly abstract concepts; maps can be an individual response to the way artists experience and interpret the places through a process of exploration, documentation, and creation informed by cartography. We are looking for a wide variety of media, from illustration, paintings to sculpture, textiles and fiber arts, digital technology and video presentations to performances. Maps may reflect political, social, economic, religious, and historical subject matter or events.
