FSU Art students Ashton Bird (MFA ’18) and Lucia Riffel (MFA ’18), received glowing feedback from art critic Douglas Miller on their work recently displayed at SOUP Experimental. On Bird’s installation, “Pompeii,” Miller writes, “Pompeii’ immediately confronts its viewer with necessity of interpretation. Thankfully, the installation is rich for those who are up to the task.” Concerning Riffel’s “Welcome to Nowhere,” Miller muses that “Riffel’s piece is a skillful representation of the absurd that offers its viewers a space for cynicism or solidarity in one of our most vulnerable moments.”
