The City of Ocala invites professional artists and artist teams (up to five artists) to submit qualifications for the opportunity to join the Ocala Public Artist Roster. Through this Request for Qualifications (RFQ), the City seeks to pre-qualify applicants using portfolios, experience, and professional references. This roster is a resource and short list for public art projects commissioned by the City of Ocala as well as external private entities. Categories of projects include Public Art, Interactive/Media Arts, Integrated/Infrastructure, or Creative Placemaking. All applications will be reviewed and approved by the Ocala Municipal Arts Commission (OMAC) in collaboration with staff recommendation.
Previously accepted artists MUST reapply.
There is no application fee.
Artists MUST:
- Live in or have legally ability to work in the United States
- Be 18 years or older
- Include 8-10 images, artwork information, artist statement, resume, and 2-3 professional references
Timeline:
- Application Deadline: April 27
- OMAC initial review of applications begin: June 5
- Accepted artists contacted no later than October 2026
