Visiting Angels is pleased to invite currently enrolled Florida State University students to participate in a local juried art competition celebrating themes of elder care, companionship, and comfort at home. One selected artwork will receive the prize, and have their work featured at our office and online, the winner will also receive a $200 prize!
This opportunity is intended to support student artists, provide portfolio-worthy recognition, while also providing a visual representation to honor what our caregivers do every day. To submit, artists must provide a clear digital image of the artwork sent through their FSU Email as verification of enrollment. Optionally, an artist statement and/or portfolio may be included with the submission.
Theme: The goal is to visually honor ‘all of what our caregivers do’ here at Visiting Angels— the human, compassionate work our caregivers (angels) provide each day. Artists are encouraged to depict caregivers supporting older adults in the home. Consider moments of:
– Companionship and connection, such as reading, puzzles, and conversation.
– Everyday assistance and presence, such as cooking, cleaning.
– Aging safely and comfortably at home, such as helping walk.
Artists are free to interpret these ideas in their own voice and style. Our judges will review based on its relevance to theme, originality, creativity, and emotional / visual impact.
This opportunity is independently hosted by Visiting Angels. Artists retain full ownership of their artwork. By submitting, artists grant Visiting Angels permission to display and use the submitted artwork for promotional purposes, with credit to the artist when possible.
Deadline for Submission: 03/08/2026.
Open to currently enrolled FSU students.
Artwork must be original and created by the submitting artist.
