In 1981 Tom Lawson wrote “Last Exit: Painting,” an essay putting painters on the defensive, directly holding each artist accountable for using paint as a medium. On the brink of that essay’s 35th anniversary the BAC is hosting a show based on the same principle. In those 35 years painting has changed a good deal and here is an opportunity to prove painting’s eternal potential.
The show will be featured in the fall issue of the Miami Rail including a new interview with Tom Lawson about his current stance on painting.
