Anderson Ranch Summer Workshop Scholarship Opportunities

Published March 1, 2011

Our Summer Workshop program is underwritten by the many gifts, donations of art, and special event proceeds Anderson Ranch receives each year. Tuition charged does not cover all the costs of the individual workshops; all participants are subsidized by those contributions. In addition, we are dedicated to offering opportunities to promising artists and increasing access to our programs for a diverse group of participants.

Applications for scholarship support are encouraged. In 2010, approximately 20% of our workshop participants received some level of scholarship support; our goal is to offer the same level of support in 2011. Specific scholarships are funded by Ranch supporters, both individuals and foundations, either through endowed funds or special gifts. We are grateful for these important gifts; a complete list of supporters is available in our Annual Report.

All scholarship applications are reviewed based on:

  • Artistic merit
  • Potential for artistic development through our programs
  • Diversity including age, geographic location, ethnic background
  • Financial need.

At Anderson Ranch, we recognize human beings’ lifelong need to develop personal creativity and to discover, learn and grow. We nurture and inspire imaginations of all ages, encouraging experimentation, intensive inquiry and creative production. Anderson Ranch is an international center for the creation of new work and untried art forms for leading artists of our time.

Artists come here to:

  • create in state-of-the-art facilities in beautiful, rustic surroundings
