Lisa Co recently gave an artist talk at her solo exhibit, “seeing is not enough,” installed at Cecilia Coker Bell Gallery on Coker University’s campus.
This current body of work collages relief prints, monoprints and handmade papers into sculptural forms and large-scale hanging pieces. The work conceptually focuses on ideas of care and concealment though the metaphors of domestic spaces and staged performance.
Co currently works as an Associate Professor of Art at Florida Gateway College teaching foundation studio courses and art historical courses. Co received her MFA from Florida State University in 2018 and a BFA in Printmaking from Armstrong State University in 2014. She recently completed a residency in South Korea and continues to work as an exhibiting artist.
