Art Alumni Lucia Riffel and Erik Pedersen Together for Vancouver Art Book Fair
As part of the Vancouver Art Book Fair’s, Art Book Month, FSU Art MFA’18 Lucia Riffel and FSU Art MFA’18 Erik Pedersen will be holding a Virtual Artist Talk on October 15th, at 7PM via Zoom. The presentation, Behind The Machine, hosted by Drum Machine Editions, will outline Riffel’s obsessions with the space between our minds and our screens and the inspiration she takes from mindless scrolling. She will discuss the challenges of translating her rich & moody digital animations to a series of three small-format, one-color flipbooks on medium-quality paper from Staples. In addition, audience participants will learn about the earliest days of Drum Machine Editions’ never-ending first project, Handheld Getaways followed by a Q&A with the artists.
This is a great opportunity to see what two of our alumni are doing since graduating from FSU’s Fine Arts Program! The event is free and open to the public, but you must register first.
