The provisions in the two sites identified above constitute the alcohol and illicit drug policy of Florida State University. The policy delineates where and under what circumstances alcohol is permitted on campus. Please note that specific approval from the appropriate administrative designee is required to serve alcohol in areas that are not designated for special events by the university. For faculty events, the designee is the Vice President for Faculty Development and Advancement; for student groups, the designee is the Vice President for Student Affairs; and for all other groups, the designee is the Vice President for University Relations.
The policy also includes a clear statement of the standards of conduct that prohibit unlawful possession, use, or distribution of illicit drugs and alcohol on Florida State University’s property as part of its activities; a description of the legal sanctions under local, state, and federal law; a description of applicable counseling, treatment, and rehabilitation/re-entry programs; and a clear statement of the disciplinary sanctions the institution will impose on students and employees.
