Elise Thompson (MFA 2016, Studio Art Alum) was recently the featured artist of a Bunker Questionnaire. This survey series is run by Bunker Projects, a nonprofit artist residency and experimental gallery in Pittsburgh, PA that serves as a platform for emerging artists to develop their practice and create new works for exhibition. In the series, residents and exhibiting artists at Bunker Projects are asked a few questions based on Marcel Proust’s famous Proust Questionnaire, a survey that purported to reveal a person’s true nature.
“Elise Thompson @eeehhhhlise is a painter based in Brooklyn, NY and was a Fall 2025 Bunker resident. Her paintings playfully cross the line between image and object. She creates layered surfaces that call on the intricacies of transparency, both physical and figurative. Currently, her work is being exhibited at @tian_contemporain in trio exhibition In Mutual Light alongside Brandon Dalmer and Elisabeth Picard. If you’re in Montreal check out this awesome show – you might even see a familiar work if you got to visit Elise’s studio while she was at Bunker” – Bunker Projects
