Christopher Rivera (MFA 2021) was recently hired as the new Instructor of Foundations & Digital Media at Murray State University.
FSU MFA in Studio Art alum Christopher Rivera recently joined the Department of Art & Design at Murray State University as the Instructor of Foundations & Digital Media. Rivera‘s practice is rooted in direct observation; he considers perspective, time, and the act of looking, deconstructing and reassembling observed environments to reveal the shifting relationships between landscape, architecture, and human intervention. Now based in Murray, Kentucky, Rivera brings this sustained attention to observation and place into both his evolving studio practice and his work as an educator. His transition into higher education marks an exciting new chapter in his professional practice and reflects the continued impact of our alumni as artists, educators, and contributors to creative communities beyond the university.
