FSU Art Graduate Spotlight: Farrah Phillips, 2028 MFA Candidate

 

 

I recently spent two weeks as a resident at Elf School of the Arts in Hayesville, North Carolina. The building, which used to be an old elementary school, was run by Rachel Watson. She transformed the structure into a nonprofit residency and venue, and I could not have felt more welcomed by her and the space. My time there consisted of a wide range of experiences, from hiking and exploring the surrounding nature to experimenting with my painting techniques and finding a style that feels my own. I had an amazing time, and I hope to return again someday.
