Professor Jiha Moon featured in the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s group exhibition, The Shape of Power: Stories of Race and American Sculpture

College of Fine Arts

Professor Jiha Moon’s work is included in the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s (SAAM) group exhibition, The Shape of Power: Stories of Race and American Sculpture.

SAAM’s groundbreaking exhibition, featuring 82 artworks created between 1792 and 2023, examines for the first time the ways in which sculpture has shaped and reflected attitudes and understandings about race in the United States. This major new survey of American sculpture explores how it both reflects and redefines concepts of race and identity in the United States. The exhibition and related book, published in association with Princeton University Press, contributes new scholarship to the understudied field of American sculpture. The Shape of Power is on view through September 14, 2025.
