My current practice is focused on abstract painting and installation. My work questions the boundaries between painting and sculpture by composing a variety of altered materials in a three-dimensional setting.
A lot of my installations are chaotic and that comes from a place of honesty. It represents the mind before meditation. It is the chaotic chatter intertwined with our subconscious that seldom lets our minds be at ease. Part of my process is working through that mindset to achieve moments of clarity. I hope that my installations leave behind remnants of those thoughts.
“Without the persistent guidance of FSU’s faculty, I would not be producing the works I am currently making. They really push students to explore their creative potential and advocate for students to question their personal boundaries and limitations.”
